Description
Pilot Plant Distillation Head offers maximum condensing power and zero distillate return. The three tapered joints are the same size. Jacket ports are offered with fixed glass barbs or detachable poly barbs. Both options fit s 1/2″ I.D. hose. Thermometer port has a #7 thread for 6-7mm compression.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our Pilot Plant Distillation Head of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. Borosilicate glassware is made from a blend of silica and boron trioxide. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
