Description
Flanged Rotary Evaporator Flask to fit large scale rotary evaporators. Flasks have a heavy wall for vacuum applications and are balanced to prevent run-out during rotation. Available plain or plastic coated to prevent injury from broken glass while preventing spillage of hazardous materials.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our Flanged Rotary Evaporator Flask of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. Borosilicate glassware is made from a blend of silica and boron trioxide. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
