LTO, PSG, And BPSG Up To 500°C.  Request Desired Slot Width.  0.010″-0.012″ over the actual wafer thickness recommended.

Prism Research Glass offers a wide range of products made of fused Quartz. Fused Quartz has superior optical clarity across a wide wavelength range. It is perfect for precision optical applications.

Fused quartz exhibits impressive mechanical properties, comparable to other high-strength materials. With a design compressive strength exceeding 1.1 x 10⁹ Pa (160,000 psi), it demonstrates remarkable durability. When properly maintained, fused quartz can achieve a tensile strength of over 4.8 x 10⁷ Pa (7,000 psi), though a design stress of 0.68 x 10⁷ Pa (1,000 psi) is typically recommended for practical applications. This combination of strength and precision makes it a reliable choice for demanding environments.

One of the most remarkable qualities of fused quartz is its incredibly low thermal expansion, a mere fraction of that in materials like copper or borosilicate glass. A related property is its unusually high thermal shock resistance. For example, you can heat thin sections rapidly to above 1500°C and then plunged into water without cracking.
