Description
The High Efficiency Coil Condenser is constructed of borosilicate glass pipe housing with coaxial wound coils. Prism Research Glass winds the coils concentrically around a common axis and have ample space between each loop. This spacing allows vapor to move freely through the coils creating turbulence and more vapor contact with cooling surface. The coaxial design gives the condenser a very robust structural quality and has only a small pressure drop between coils.
The High Efficiency Coil Condenser has beaded pressure pipe fitting tooled on glass piping. The fitting are compatible with pipe fittings on the market today. Conical ends are available upon request.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our High Efficiency Coil Condenser of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. Borosilicate glassware is made from a blend of silica and boron trioxide. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
