Description
The Jacketed Coil Condenser is used for extra cooling capacity. As vapor rises, condensing occurs on the inner wall of the jacket and on the exterior surface of the coil. The condensers with the 24/40 and 29/42 joints have a 10mm hose barb. The 45/50 and 55/50 jointed condensers have a 14mm hose barb. Measure barbs at the middle serration.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our Jacketed Coil Condenser of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. Borosilicate glassware is made from a blend of silica and boron trioxide. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
