Description
High Volume Drain Valve Adapters have Teflon covered O-Ring seals. Adapter offer three connections: spherical ball joints, beaded pipe and “QVF” KF joints. Several options within each grouping for your selection to match mate with vessel connection drain spout is a nominal standard size for use with a compression fitting. All exposed parts are either Glass or Teflon.
Teflon Information
Teflon, also known as PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), is a synthetic fluoropolymer with a wide range of applications due to its unique properties. Key specifications include high temperature resistance, excellent chemical resistance, low friction, and non-stick characteristics.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our High Volume Drain Valve Adapters of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. A blend of silica and boron trioxide make up borosilicate glassware. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
