Description
Flush Mount Drain Valve seats flush to vessel interior. A 1/2″ stabilizer pin is installed to prevent shaft whip during stirring. An encapsulated O-Ring seats the valve plunger to the vessel bottom. Two Kalrez O-Rings are further back on the valve stem. Valve connects to the vessel by use of a 2.0″ beaded pipe fitting. The discharge port is a 1.0″ beaded pipe fitting.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our Flush Mount Drain Valve of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. A blend of silica and boron trioxide make up borosilicate glassware. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
