Description

Immersion Coil for Heating or Cooling are fabricated from 1/2″ diameter copper and encapsulated in a heavy wall PTFE material. Coils will pass through a 200mm flanged vessel.

Teflon Information

Teflon, also known as PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), is a synthetic fluoropolymer with a wide range of applications due to its unique properties. Key specifications include high temperature resistance, excellent chemical resistance, low friction, and non-stick characteristics.

Borosilicate Glassware Information

Prism Research Glass makes our Immersion Coil for Heating or Cooling of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. Blend silica and boron trioxide to make borosilicate glassware. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.

Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
