Description
Prism Research is proud to offer the J-KEM Scientific, Inc. Temperature Controller. Designed for processes requiring an extra measure of safety. The Model 260/Timer disconnects outlet power if the process temperature exceeds the set point by a user-specified amount, or following recovery from a power failure. Power remains off until the controller is manually reset. Over temperature is signaled by both an indicator lamp and an audible alarm. Contains a 100-hour digital timer to turn heating OFF (or ON) when the time expires. The Model 260 has two power outlets (1800 watts) for large equipment or heating mantles up to 22L. Contains J-KEM Scientific, Inc.’s patented power control computer which provides 0.1° regulation of anything.

The temperature range desired determines the probe/thermocouple type:
J [black] (0 – 800° C)
K [yellow] (-50 – 1200° C)
T [blue] (-200 – 250° C)
RTD: (-200 – 400° C)
PURCHASE WITH OR WITHOUT SYSTEM ACCESSORIES
Complete system includes: one controller, one Teflon thermocouple (12″ long, 1/8″ diameter), one connecting cord, and one 14/20 joint adapter.
System thermocouples are Teflon-coated and should not be used above 190° C
Need even more control? Add the KEM-I/O feature: an input/output option that allows your controller to operate external devices like valves and stirrers with digital inputs/outputs.
Need even more safety? Add the loop break alarm feature: guards against user error during reaction set up.

Teflon Information
Teflon, also known as PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), is a synthetic fluoropolymer with a wide range of applications due to its unique properties. Key specifications include high temperature resistance, excellent chemical resistance, low friction, and non-stick characteristics.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our glassware of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. Borosilicate glassware is made from a blend of silica and boron trioxide. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
