Prism Research Glass is proud to offer the J-KEM Scientific Dual Element Thermocouple Probe. Dual element thermocouples contain two independent thermocouples in a single probe.

Note:

To read temperatures accurately, the type of the thermocouple must match the controller’s type. On a new controller, the type is the letter immediately following the model number: 210-K-S.

Probes are color coded! Look on an existing controller at the color of the thermocouple receptacle on the front.

If the receptacle is BLUE you must order a type T thermocouple.
If the receptacle is YELLOW you must order a type K thermocouple.
If the receptacle is BLACK you must order a type J thermocouple.
If the receptacle is WHITE you must order a type Pt/100 thermocouple.

Teflon Information

Teflon, also known as PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), is a synthetic fluoropolymer with a wide range of applications due to its unique properties. Key specifications include high temperature resistance, excellent chemical resistance, low friction, and non-stick characteristics.

Borosilicate Glassware Information

Prism Research Glass makes our glassware of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. Borosilicate glassware is made from a blend of silica and boron trioxide. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.

Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
