Description
Spherical Reaction Vessel with Baffles has Duran style O-Ring flange. Flanges can either be sealed with an O-Ring or grease. Four Morton baffle indents are evenly spaced around perimeter for improved stirring. For clamps see PRG-188 and O-Rings see PRG-187.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our Spherical Reaction Vessel with Baffles of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. A blend of silica and boron trioxide make up borosilicate glassware. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
