Description
Open Drain Port Spherical Vessel has a Duran style O-Ring flange. Flanges can either be sealed with an O-Ring or grease. The open drain port is designed to fit through a heat mantle. Three options for outlet port, for drain valve options see PRG-5269 and PRG-5270. For couplings see PRG-1705, PRG-8022 & PRG-7070.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our Open Drain Port Spherical Vessel of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. A blend of silica and boron trioxide make up borosilicate glassware. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
