Description
The Prism Research Glass Spinner Flask is a heavy wall borosilicate material and available in 100ml to 36,000ml. The center thread assembly is an enclosed system in which the stir shaft rotates in the bearing located in the cap. This enclosed system decreases the risk of contaminated exterior drive shafts. The threaded side arms provide easy access for sampling or loading. Upon your request, additional side arms can be added for thermocouples, probes, or access ports. Unit is completely autoclavable.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our glassware of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. Borosilicate glassware is made from a blend of silica and boron trioxide. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
