Description
Allihn Condenser with Detachable Hose Barbs is fitted with detachable hose barbs. The polypropylene hose barb couples to the condenser using an internal thread. It not only makes connecting and disconnecting easier but safer as well. Condensers with 24/40 and 29-42 joints have a #11 thread for 3/8″ I.D. tubing. The 45/50 condensers have a #15 thread and fit a 1/2″ I.D. hose.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our Allihn Condenser with Detachable Hose Barbs of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. Borosilicate glassware is made from a blend of silica and boron trioxide. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
