Prism Research Glass is proud to offer the non-jacketed Oldershaw Distillation Column with beaded pipe connections. Uniform perforated plates allow even dispersement of distillate and condensate during operation. Connecting ends are standard tapered joints. Columns are fabricated per order and can be customized to suit your applications. For pipe couplings see PRG-8022.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our Oldershaw Distillation Column of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. Borosilicate glassware is made from a blend of silica and boron trioxide. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
