Description
Superb high and low temperature capabilities enable the Silicone O-Ring to be used in long term exposure to dry heat. Due to poor abrasion resistance, the Silicone O-Ring perform best in static sealing applications. Silicone resists brake fluids and high aniline point oil. Not recommended for ketones or most petroleum oils. Temperature range is -65°F to 450°F. Hardness is 65-75 Shore A durometer. Amber in color.
Borosilicate Glassware Information
Prism Research Glass makes our glassware of Borosilicate Glassware often referred to as Pyrex. Borosilicate glassware is made from a blend of silica and boron trioxide. It is the standard for laboratory use because of its chemical resistance to various chemicals. This resistance makes it suitable for diverse laboratory applications. It is highly resistant to chemical attack by most substances, including water, acids, and organic solvents.
Borosilicate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which means it can withstand rapid temperature changes. It can typically handle temperature ranges between -80°C (-112°F) and 500°C (930°F) without cracking and typically has a melting point of around 1650°C (3000°F).
